Michael and Wendy Goshey
As you can see in the old picture from my 10th birthday, whereas I always begged for mom’s Poppyseed Bundt Cake every late December, she also would make a second (frosted) cake for those expecting such at a kid’s birthday party. I always loved how relatively light the Poppyseed cake was and I still request it at least once a year from Wendy- often sentimentally on my birthday. This most recent creation was made the first night we came up with the idea for this website!
They’re really the same thing, aren’t they? I didn’t quite say it right.
Which is worse – to think you didn’t do something or to do it and forget that you did it?????????????????
I still love that cake and always think of Mike when I make it. Texas cake is good too – can’t remember why I didn’t include it. Oh well, i remember making lots of choices when I did the book to keep it a decent length.
Actually Mom, you’re covered: Texas cake did make it into your book. Here’s the link: https://carolesfamilycookbook.com/recipes/dessert-78.pdf
I remember this being your favorite. Paula had to have Texas Cake. I loved the Dakota Dinner; The Oven Omelet and the beans. I will be making some of these and posting after the wedding. Great idea Mike! She will love this.
