We paired this Waldorf Salad with another recipe from Carole’s Family Cookbook (Ripe Olive Casserole: see separate submission) and the two tasted great together! We used miracle whip in place of cool whip & mayo and it worked great. We ended up serving the salad on a bed or raw spinach which was also nice. A great dinner!
Wendy – I love the modern touch of putting the salad on a bed of raw spinach. I don’t remember of ever doing that in the 60s and 70s.
I remember this salad as a kid…we had it often. I am not a miracle whip fan, but in this salad, it was good!
